Agenda for Winter Session

Samples: (rank order) - create wiki - each page focus on different topic from below with the LwICT discussion and pairing site - create digital templates for each of the areas we want to gather samples - word docs - participants bring on memory sticks

DAY 1

Implementation Process and Experiences - large group discussion - update implementation plan/state of the union - we share what is going on internally - funding, senior years, John Lenghty
Learning Experiences - (work in pairs, we group) - Michelle till about 2pm
1. participants use online form to organize learning experiences with a Big Idea focus - complete form and post to wiki along with samples/exemplars - explore what is posted - discuss infusion into learning experiences.
  1. Examine the Learning experiences in the lwict-mentoring wiki/CN1 and reinforce the notion that big ideas are critical to reference in the planning (create/modify their own using the online form we create)
  2. Examine the Learning Experiences on the website/Curriculum Navigator/ePEARL
2. When finished, consider the assessment of the learning experience - of the learning outcomes and how they assess the identified BIG IDEAS
3. Post samples on wiki
Reporting/ Collecting Data - digital photos, links, electronic documents, creating a portfolio of samples - John
1. Show and tell with volunteers of different ways they gather information using the continuum (observation, conversation, portfolio) - we record suggested strategies in Inspiration
2. Rethink / not done Samples of Anecdotal Reporting -
  1. Discussion of anecdotal reporting on report cards or at parent-teacher conferences - what do we reference?
  2. Samples of anecdotal reports we create - - set some criteria with the group - then the group works on revising a variety of different anecdotal comments we create - share with the large group and place on the wiki2009
  3. look at lwict2009 wiki - use the supplied samples as a basis. - remind them this is a continuation from last year
reported to day 2 Web 2.0 samples - wikis, blogs, social networking, etc - Roz
1. volunteer a few people to show and tell (or we highlight some others e.g. clarence, devon, Kath penner, cathy cassidy, joan badger scribe, denise kennedy)
2. Resources you use - have participants fill out a form (W5) about the resources they or their teachers use and then post to wiki. (individuals or pairs).

Topics for Discussion (rank order) - also a breakout session on LwICT at SY when SY teachers are attending - along with coordinators

Online Safety of students - John has a presentation ready for this - lead to an open discussion
Assessing the Affective Domain - Michelle strategies, examples, topics, when it happens - review of the information on the website but start with what teachers are currently doing to assess the affective domain.
1. research recent events in the news relating to unethical/illegal behaviour and post links - how do we proactively work with students to prevent these issues - small groups examine the issues and discuss how it is related to the affective domain and how to prevent these issues from occurring. (ie - Lord Selkirk issue, facebook problems) Michelle
Creating a professional learning community - what are divisions already doing (tech talks - SJSD, Bits and Bytes - WSD ) Sharepoint/Divisional Wikis (Examples of professional learning communities that exist to support Literay with ICT in your division or school.) - share professional learning that you would recommend - where else can/do you turn? Show and Tell - record divisional PLC information and a networking page Google Form for teachers to submit info on email/PLC address/twitter name, etc and also projects they are interested in.
